As a senior attorney at two prominent international law firms in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, California, Ms. Bell represented multi-million dollar corporations, regulated utilities, independent energy companies and tribal gaming and other commercial enterprises on such matters as hotel, resort, gaming and energy development, project financing, business operations, regulatory compliance, land use, licensing and permitting issues, tax incentives, environmental protection and natural resource management. Ms. Bell also has provided legal counsel and representation to emerging technology companies, entrepreneurs and small business owners and was most recently the Senior Vice President and General Counsel to an award-winning independent film and television production and distribution company.
In service of her corporate, tribal and small business clients, Ms. Bell has extensive experience negotiating and drafting complex finance, security, project development, joint-venture, investor rights, management, employment and acquisition agreements, preparing and filing copyright, trademark, security and corporate organization and governance documents, drafting employment policies and procedures, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, privacy policies, terms of use for online activities and products, standard terms and conditions for the sale of goods and services, consulting and sales representative agreements and other corporate documents, advising on employment and labor law, regulatory compliance, environmental protection, land use and natural resource management, providing representation in litigation, arbitration, administrative and regulatory proceedings and overseeing outside litigation and bankruptcy counsel.
Ms. Bell has put her experience to work for her clients in connection with the development of real estate, including a $100 million national flag hotel and condominium project, casino and resort destination projects, including refinancing a $150 million casino expansion and developing a $500 million entertainment complex, and energy projects, including a $100 million geothermal and ethanol processing plant and a $350 million coal-fired power plant. She also provides counsel to independent film, television and new media production and distribution companies, independent producers and financiers, new media and technology companies, entrepreneurs, small business owners, nightclubs, restaurants and tribal gaming and commercial enterprises.
In service of our corporate and small business clients, Ms. Bell works with Eric Parmater, a seasoned entrepreneur, business owner and consultant. Mr. Parmater has more than 25 years of experience in owning, operating, and growing a wide variety of businesses including restaurants and nightclubs, marketing, sales and customer loyalty programs, insurance providers, commercial and residential real-estate development, Internet companies and technology enterprises. In addition to opening his own restaurant at the age of 18, Mr. Parmater spent five years with International Marketing Services, Inc., where he was the National Sales Director. In this position, Mr. Parmater was responsible for the nationwide hiring and sales training for 17 offices. During his tenure, sales increased from $9.25 million to $18.65 million.
Mr. Parmater has also worked as a multi-state Account Manager for California Casualty, a privately owned property and casualty insurance company based in San Mateo, California and managed a local consulting firm in Ohio specializing in human excellence and relationships. Recognizing a great opportunity in the Central Ohio real estate market, Parmater spent six years purchasing and renovating over 70 single-family homes in the inner-city and historical areas of Columbus, Ohio. He developed a plan to allow low-income families to purchase properties, while also renovating 35,000 square feet of mixed residential and commercial space utilizing a local neighborhood redevelopment program. The total value of these projects exceeded $7.25 million.
In the summer of 2001, Parmater developed GrooveJob.com. GrooveJob.com is an Internet-based job board, similar to Monster.com or HotJobs.com, but geared towards the high school and college demographic. Clients of GrooveJob.com include The Home Depot, Kroger, Seven-Eleven, Forever 21, YUM! Brands, Sears and the United States Army. GrooveJob.com receives over 100,000 hits per day and is the most respected job board for its demographic. Since then, Mr. Parmater has developed several new technologies for the hospitality, bar and nightclub industry and has managed the research and development, sales and operations of bringing these technologies to market.
